Garmin Forerunner 310XT
Overall Rating:

Our review
The Garmin Forerunner 310XT is a huge step forward from previous models, notably the 305 and the 405; it still keeps the basic functionality and most of the great features, but comes with quite a few improvements.
The watch has a pretty large display, fits nicely on the wrist and looks like an oddly shaped wristwatch; great improvement from previous Garmin Forerunners is the extra-strong, rechargeable lithium-ion battery that lasts for up to twenty hours. Included in the kit is a heart-rate chest strap that turns the Garmin Forerunner 310XT into an accurate heart-rate monitor. However, what is really great is that the 310XT is the first really water-resistant model that is actually suitable for swimmers – it can be used in up to 50 meters depth and the heart-rate chest strap is also waterproof.
The Garmin Forerunner 310XT has a highly-sensitive GPS receiver with HotFix that results in better and faster satellite connection; the device should be on the top of every triathlete’s wish list since makes switching from one sport to another a breeze, thanks to its multi-sport feature. The setup of the Garmin Forerunner 310XT is also pretty straightforward and all you have to do is input your basic data by answering a series of simple questions.
Other features that make the Garmin Forerunner 310XT so great are:
- large display
- wireless ANT+ connection to computers
- compatible with a foot pod
- advanced calorie computing
- displays four data screen simultaneously
- Garmin Connect compatible
- Virtual Partner, which lets you to set goals and track your progress
- Courses allow you to record workouts as courses and compete against them
